Methane gas is generated during the anaerobic stabilization of landfills and waste water treatment plant sludge. If methane is not technically controlled and evaluated, if it is not rendered harmless, it is like a time bomb with an unknown time to explode. Therefore, the formation of methane gas and its control or evaluation are very important in engineering applications. By converting the methane gas generated in landfills into electrical energy, both the danger is eliminated and electrical energy, which is very important for our country, is produced.
Obtaining electrical energy from garbage consists of the following processes:
COLLECTION OF LANDFILL GAS FROM THE FIELD
The methane gas generated by the wells drilled in the landfill is collected and transmitted to the Energy Facility through pipes.
IMPROVEMENT OF LAST GAS
The Landfill Gas, which is collected from the landfill and transmitted through pipes, is first cooled and dehumidified in the gas dryer, then the water remaining in the gas is separated with the cyclone separator in the booster unit. Purified gas is pressurized by “blowers” and transmitted to the gas engine. Gas composition is measured instantaneously with the gas analyzer in the booster unit.
BURNING THE LAST GAS IN THE ENGINE AND CONVERTING IT TO ENERGY
With the Landfill burned in the Gas, gas engine (Gen-Set), electrical energy is generated by the generator and supplied to the network.
